Since there’s so many events coming up, I thought it would be appropriate for another edition of the QuickNews!

Every Monday at Bistro Bordeaux is now “Mussel Monday” and for $19.95, you’ll receive mussels and a glass of wine or a pint of Stella Artois. Chef Johnny Besch will be serving four different varieties of mussels each week!

Flemings is bringing back their Prime Rib Sunday deal! Every Sunday in January and February, you can enjoy a delicious three-course dinner, complete with 12 ounces of Prime Rib with a trio of sauces, a Wedge or Caesar salad, one side dish and dessert for only $29.95! Fleming’s Prime Rib dinner is available at both Chicago-area locations!

Are you a bacon lover? Make your reservation for Thursday’s (January 19th) “Baconfest Satellite Dinner”  at Hearty! Sponsored by Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats, Candid Wines, Jo Snow Syrups and Templeton Rye, the evening is sure to be fun and delicious! The menu is filled with bacon dishes, like Bacon Consomme and Bacon Steak, ending with the Elvis Whoopie Pie made with what else but BACON! The cost for the dinner is $65 per person (includes apertif and cocktail) and there will be two seatings: 6:00pm and 8:45pm. Reservations can be made here, through OpenTable or by calling 773-868-9866.

On January 20th, Cactus  Bar and Grill will be hosting a speakeasy-themed prohibition party! The event will run from 11am to 2am. Various appetizers costing only $5 will be served, such as Salsa & Chips, Artichoke Jalapeno Dip, Cheeseburger Sliders and Death Valley Wings. Various “illegal” drinks will be served, like Batch 19 prohibition-style pints and Templeton Rye cocktails. The staff will even be dressed in 20′s apparel! However, in order to receive a free appetizer, you need to become a Cactus Bar and Grill Facebook fan and find the password! The password will be posted on Facebook at 11am on January 20th!

Barrio
Urban Taqueria will be celebrating their first anniversary by giving back to others! Chef Martin Cabrera is featuring his “Fight Hunger Menu” through January 23rd. The menu will include dishes like Nachos de Barrio and Chuletas de Puerco, and part of the sales will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Then, on January 24th, the restaurant will offer specials for $1 each, as well as a free Oro Azul tequila tasting between 6 and 8pm with live music!

On January 25th, Park Grill will be hosting a reception and four course dinner, showcasing wines by Girard Winery. Zach Long will lead guests through dinner with various wine pairings.  Park Grill’s Chef Alex Shalev’s four course menu includes items like lobster, Berkshire pork and blackberry pie. Yum!
